Monopoly deadlock

The daughter's friend was over for a sleepover and the two girls were playing monopoly when they ran into an insoluble problem.

First, the friend rolled the dice and had to go to jail, so she had to skip a turn. Then, S2 rolled the dice and also had to go to jail, meaning she too had to skip a turn.

What's the way out?

  1. In my house, when someone lands in jail, they lose the rest of the current turn. For the next three turns, they can roll the dice: if they get doubles, they get out of jail. If they still haven't gotten doubles on the third turn, they have to pay $50 to the pot to get out. They have the option, in each of those three turns, to just pay the $50 to get out before rolling.
