Research and Development Funding: China vs. USA

Trends of Research and Development (R&D) funding around the world look quite scary:
  1. R&D spending in the US will go down (after adjusting for inflation) in 2009
  2. Chinese R&D spending is showing really explosive growth in R&D. There is mild growth in India and other Asian countries.
  3. In Europe, R&D funding is going to be flat
When the global recession is over, guess where the new innovations are likely to come from?

    I am wondering though if the popularity of so-called "green" innovations (like the dubious wind energy) won't leave China behind, if not temporarily. I wonder how much of their R&D is going toward green-friendly innovations.

    I’ve been doing some serious research about the positioning of buttons in forms in general. And what I’ve come up with is to put the “Primary Action”-button left-aligned with the form. One of the reasons for doing this is that the eye automatically searches for a new form element to the left just under the previous element.
